Limewash beauty 🥒🐉🌿 • A recent completion of a kitchen/living room project for a Lincoln Park condo. We created a custom, light and hazy blue-green color for our client with the help from @dominguefinishes beautiful limewash paint. Trim and millwork were color matched with a Sherwin Williams color. We devised a strategy how to set up the equipment so we can safely move across a 50’ ceiling space with all of the obstacles in place and still achieve a soft, organic look. 🌸 🦜🦋🐰🌳 Our whimsical chinoiserie-inspired living room mural was a joy to create from start to finish. Our lovely client was fully trusting of my creative direction and with a team of talented artists we were able to bring to life a dreamy scene that this sweet family will be able to enjoy for many years to come. • A few cherished symbols were painted into the scene - a Luna moth, to commemorate a family member, two bunnies to represent their two adorable, young daughters. ⚡️Faux green marble hearth floor⚡️ • I was asked to replicate the look of the fireplace surround that was made with old spider green marble slabs, but first we had to even out the surface that was covered in painted tile. This type of marble has so much layered veining, I could’ve worked on it for a week and still wouldn’t have been able to capture all of its intricate details. What a privilege to be able to restore a portrait of my client’s mother! 💐 With expertise from my assistant @natasha_savic_harvey who is a trained conservator, we were able to bring back to life this gorgeous portrait and give it many more years of protection and stability. It was painted in 1954 by Frederic Mizen, a Chicago artist and a Sears Roebuck illustrator. The painting had decades of grime, the old varnish yellowed and was discolored in other places. There was water damage, and loss of paint (last slide). We were able to fully clean it, retouch it and put a new coat of varnish which will preserve it so that future family members can keep enjoying it. We restored the frame as well. My client was thrilled with the results! LFSH Showcase #3 • Collaboration with @stonetextile was a dream. Elizabeth asked us to create a multi-colored checkered floor pattern that would elevate her Jack and Jill bathroom in the main house to the next level. This room is so vibrant, so alive with unexpected color, pattern and texture interplay.
